Karen Coffey

When was your first job in real estate?

Working for a builder outside of Atlanta Georgia

Why did you want to be in real estate?

I wanted to be an architect but couldn’t afford the schooling so I went in this direction

What prompted you to move into coaching?

I had super fast results when I moved into a brand new market where I made 100K in 100 days in a down market and other agents started taking notice and asking me to coach them to get the same fast results. Come to find out I was pretty good at it. Agents started seeing the same results because i didn’t coach them…I told them what to do… and because they listened they loved making a boat load of money.

What do you see as your "value proposition" for a potential client?

Our organization is very different from most coaching companies in that we only coach women looking to reach the 1/4 million and above mark (and their smart husband partners) are not a “coach in .a can model’. We customize our work to build a roadmap for our agents business based on their strengths and add up to 1/4 to 1/2 a million dollars a year without cold calling, door knocking , or blogging

What is the biggest challenge most agents face?

Every market is inundated with agents, no or low inventory, and multiple offers situations right now….you’ve got to be different! When the industry is going one way, you need to go another and we provide every marketing piece, strategy, and fresh scripts to do that..no same old fashioned ways of doing real estate here.

Many people have a natural fear of prospecting and rejection. How do you get your agent/client over such a fear?

There is no wonder agents have a fear of prospecting…they’re being taught to say the same ole thing every agent across America is being taught…. which is salesy and foolish scripts. You have to have authentic conversations to convert more sales ,not mislead or manipulate your clients, it’s really crazy. The way we work our clients have fun again and cant wait to talk with more people.

How do you coach your clients on time management strategies and especially dealing with procrastination?

You can’t teach time management from one point of view… time management challenges comes from different things, it can be lack of discipline, lack of motivation, or lack of emotional strength. At Karen Coffey’s making agents wealthy we have 3 types of coaches that our clients get full access to…a skills coach, an accountability coach and a mindset coach. You can’t have 1 without the other 2, business just doesn’t work if you don’t.

Are great sellers made or born? Explain.

Made, Sculpted out of the gifts and talents we were given. Life is sales, every relationship a negotiation, everyone is selling all of the time so we might as well learn how to do it well.

Do you use an accountability coach? Why or why not?

of course we do…. we would not have been able to surpass our business and personal goals year after year if we didn’t. My entire team of coaches have weekly accountability coaching.
